winter tourist season necessary anti crisis measures

For another year we have to adapt to something that has never happened to us before, inflation, economic crisis force us every two weeks to rethink part of our strategies and our plans for the winter tourist season, Marian Belyakov, CEO of "Pamporovo" AD, told BNT morning programme on September 27.

"Inflation affects every component of the final product, and it is also unpredictable at the moment. We are trying to give some form of relative predictability to what our guests should expect in the winter season," he said.

What's new is that a lift pass has been put on sale through Nov. 20, which is sold at last year's prices, and can be used from the season's opening date to the season's closing date, activated the first time through the turnstiles. The cost is BGN 75 per day card.

According to Marian Belyakov, the desire for higher salaries for employees does not correspond with the business climate, businesses cannot withstand the continuous increase.

"We cannot compensate for all the increases in utility costs, including the wage fund, and in the end we may be expected to burden the end customer with all this difference, but if we do that, the products will become completely unsellable," said the CEO of Pamporovo AD.

Marian Belyakov noted that the most important thing the caretaker government could do to help their business is to enshrine the extended VAT rate of 9% with its extended interpretation, including for access to sports facilities.
