An investigation is launched into illegal logging in the flood-ravaged forests of the Karlovo region.
The ministers of the interior and agriculture, as well as representatives of the prosecutor's office and the local population, will carry out an on-site inspection of both the logging and the activities in the forests in this area to determine whether there have been violations and whether these activities are related to the disaster in the sub-Balkan.
So far, both Agriculture Minister Yavor Gechev and caretaker Prime Minister Galab Donev commented that there was no excessive logging in the area. However, residents of the affected villages claim otherwise.
