Only 6-7% of individuals' properties in Bulgaria are insured

Statistics in the last 10 years do not tolerate change when we talk about real estate - houses, properties. In the case of cars, people take out insurance as a priority - not only third party liability, but also car insurance. This is what Konstantin Velev, Chairman of the Association of Bulgarian Insurers, said in "The Day Begins".

6 - 7% of individuals' properties are insured, which is an extremely low percentage given that the majority of people live in their own homes. There should be more interest.

According to him, the real reason for the low interest in home insurance is basically the standard of living, in most cases people say "It won't happen to me".

Velev explained that there are cheaper options for property insurance, but also more optimal options. Generally speaking they start from prices in the range of 25 - 35 BGN. per year. If the market valuation of the property is 100 000 euro, for example, the cost of insurance would be about 400 BGN. per year, Kostadin Velev said.
