Weather alert for rain and thunder storms

Cooler temperatures and precipitation are expected today, September 1 and in the coming days. Maximum temperatures today will be between 25° and 33°. Heavy cumulonimbus clouds will develop and in the afternoon there will be thunderstorms and showers in many places, more intense mainly in mountainous areas in western and central Bulgaria.

Weather alert for heavy rain and thunderstorms across the country has already been issued for tomorrow. September 2. Significant amounts and severe thunderstorms will also occur along the Black Sea coast during the early hours on Saturday, but rainfall will be in the process of stopping in the rest of the country.

Temperatures will continue to fall and tomorrow's highs will be in the 20s in the north-west to 30s in eastern Bulgaria, where there will be sunny spells. There will be moderate northeasterly winds and northwesterly winds in the western half of the Danube Plain.

On the Black Sea coast in many places there will be showers with thunderstorms. More significant amounts are expected at the end of the day and in the early hours on Saturday.

Bad conditions for hiking in the mountains tomorrow. It will be cloudy, foggy and with precipitation, in places significant and accompanied by thunder.

There will be more sunny spells on Sunday, but rain is possible again in places in western Bulgaria after midday. Temperatures will start to rise and continue to rise into the new week.
