One woman died and two people were injured in a serious road traffic accident on the road Plovdiv – Karlovo on June 11, at the junction for the village of Ivan Vazovo, Southern Bulgaria.
According to initial data, a car did not stop at a stop sign and failed to yield another car with the right of way. The 72-year-old driver of the first car and his companion, aged 68, were transported to hospital. The woman was admitted in a serious condition, and hours later she died despite the efforts of doctors.
A 41-year-old female passenger of the car whose right of way was taken and was being driven by a 39-year-old man was also left for treatment. His samples for alcohol and drug use were negative. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated and the investigation into all the facts and circumstances surrounding the road accident is ongoing.
