A large forest fire that broke out in the Turkish district of Edirne, near the border with Bulgaria, has been brought under control.
The disaster started in a forest area near the village of Yomeroba, Lalapasa municipality, and the cause has not been established.
Strong winds caused the fire to spread rapidly, but firefighters managed to tackle it within 6 hours.
Several firefighters were reportedly injured while battling the blaze. Paramedics rendered them quick assistance on the spot.
5 helicopters and two aircraft took part in the extinguishing action.
