A man who escaped from a prison in Stara Zagora is wanted.
The inmate escaped from an outside site where he worked, BNT has learned.
He was serving a sentence in the open-type prison dormitory, wich is part of the prison in the city of Stara Zagora, Southern Bulgaria.
The inmate escaped between 2 p.m. and 2.30 p.m. yesterday, the BNT sources said.
He is of Syrian origin but has a Bulgarian personal ID number. He was serving a sentence of 1 year and 9 months for migrant trafficking.
A few days ago, he was on trial in Sofia, where he found out that he faces more sentences for similar activities. This was probably his motive to escape.
According to the BNT sources, caretaker Deputy Justice Minister Maria Pavlova and the Director of the General Directorate for the Execution of Penalties at the Ministry of Justice are expected to arrive on the scene in the coming hours.
