A woman died after a serious accident on the road Varna - Rousse near the village of Ushintsi in Razgrad district on July 12.
The accident occurred around noon.

Due to a distracted driving, a lorry travelling in the direction of Razgrad entered oncoming traffic and hit a van travelling in the direction of Varna. In the collision, the rear end of the van hit the cab of the lorry travelling behind it and was pinned between the two lorries.
A 79-year-old woman from the village of Samuil in Razgrad was injured in the crash. She was taken in serious condition to the hospital in Razgrad, where she later died.

Specialised equipment had to be used on the spot to assist the passengers.
Traffic was diverted along the route Razgrad - Loznitsa - Shumen and back. At the moment, an inspection of the scene is being carried out.

The drivers involved in the traffic accident were checked for alcohol and drug use, the first driver's sample reacted positive for methamphetamine. The same driver provided blood for medical tests, Razgrad police added.
