100% of the German companies doing business in Bulgaria say they would invest in our country again. This became clear during a meeting of the caretaker Minister of Economy and Industry, Nikola Stoyanov, with representatives of the German business in Bulgaria, which is part of the "breakfast with investors" initiative.

The data are from a regular survey that the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce conducts among its members. The information also shows that more than half of the companies assess their current situation as good.

German investments in the country are more than 3.8 billion euros. There are 1,500 German companies operating in Bulgaria, employing over 35 000 people.

"Our trade is growing at a steady pace, reaching €9.9 billion in 2021, and Bulgarian exports already exceed €5 billion a year," Minister Stoyanov said.

According to him, Germany's interest in investing in Bulgaria is particularly high and it is key to have an operational dialogue between business and the state at the moment.

"The purpose of these working meetings is to get feedback on the problems of the business and where companies see opportunities to improve our operational work," the minister explained.

Today's meeting was attended by representatives from over 25 leading companies from Germany.

The event was organised jointly with the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GBCCI) and the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bulgaria. The discussions were attended by GBCCI President, Tim Kurth and the Deputy Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Stefan Röcken.
