The Prosecutor’s Office has identified a third individual involved in the bombing of a bus at Burgas airport in July 2012. The Bulgarian Prosecutor General, Sotir Tsatsarov, before the weekly meeting of the Supreme Judicial Council, commented that the identification of a new suspect would result in postponing the submission of the indictment, which was originally intended for the beginning of the year.
Sotir Tsatsarov also said that the third suspect identified by investigators was directly involved in the terror attack at Sarafovo airport in Burgas. This development required sending new requests for international legal assistance.
So far, the Prosecutor’s Office has not received any response to the requests it made to Lebanon in relation to the two individuals of Lebanese origin, previously identified as suspects last year. Five Israeli nationals and the Bulgarian bus driver were killed in the bomb explosion as Israeli tourists were boarding the bus at the airport.
