bulgarian red cross launched campaign raise funds help victims wildfires

The Bulgarian Red Cross is launching a campaign to raise funds to help the victims of the wildfires, the organisation said on July 19. The funds will be used to provide emergency aid and assistance to the victims.

With concern and compassion, we appeal to all in these difficult days for our country. The wildfires that have scorched various areas have caused damage and left many families homeless and without a livelihood. These people urgently need our help and support to rebuild their lives, the Red Cross wrote.

Those wishing to support the campaign can do so by sending a text message at a cost of BGN 1 to the short number 1466 to all mobile operators.

A special bank account in BGN has been opened:

Since 18 July, Bulgarian Red Cross teams have been providing support in the settlements affected by the fires. In the village of Voden, psychosocial support was provided to the victims, and together with the Municipality of Bolyarovo, food parcels and water were provided at the specially opened point located in the town hall.

Teams of the Bulgarian Red Cross-Plovdiv, together with representatives of the Otets Paisievo village hall and the local population, provided water and food to the victims and the specialised teams working in the field.
