Caretaker PM Glavchev: Sending Bulgarian troops to Ukraine is out of the question

The Parliament on July 4 heard the caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev on Bulgaria's position for the upcoming NATO summit in Washington, USA.

The meeting was classified at the request of "There is Such a People" (TISP).

"What Glavchev and the defence minister said was true in general terms, but as content it has nothing to do with the documents that are in the Secret Registry. There are things that Bulgaria will have to confirm or disagree with at this meeting that do not have the sanction of the National Assembly. There are serious doubts serious doubts that "if we agree with what is in this file, we might be giving up national sovereignty", as a consequence of which I propose that this meeting be closed," TISP chairman Toshko Yordanov Yordanov said.

Sending Bulgarian troops to Ukraine is out of the question, caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev said at the beginning of the hearing. This issue has never been on the table for discussion, nor will it be, but political and practical support for Kiev remains a priority for Bulgaria, Glavchev said.
