Coronavirus in Bulgaria: 1,496 new cases

The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 1,496 from 6,228 tests, the daily report on the National Information Portal shows on August 5.

Test positivity rate is 24%.

The total lab-confirmed cases in the country since the start of the epidemic are 1,214,925.

The active cases are 26,582.

Of the total, 1,066 patients are in hospitals, 56 of them being in intensive care.

During the past 24 hours:

• 1,755 recoveries;

• 3,535 administered doses of Covid-19 vaccines;

• 4 Covid-19 related deaths.

Of the daily cases, 66.38% had not been vaccinated.

Of those who died, 50.00% had not been vaccinated.

There were 148 new hospitalisations, of which 72.97% had not been vaccinated.
