Bulgaria’s caretaker Defence Minister Dimitar Stoyanov on November 16 said that he did not expect a specific threat to the national security after the incident in Poland. In his words, there is no concern in any NATO member state.
"There is no need for measures at the moment. There is no need to reinforce the capacity or increase the readiness of the military forces of NATO's Eastern flank," Stoyanov said.
Following yesterday's explosion in Poland, the parliamentary defence and foreign policy committees held an emergency meeting.
They heard the caretaker Foreign Minister Nikolai Milkov and the caretaker Defence Minister Dimitar Stoyanov, as well as the heads of the Military Intelligence Service and the State Intelligence Agency on the situation in eastern Poland, where yesterday there was an explosion in an area near the border with Ukraine.
