The 59-year-old man who was injured in the January 15, 2025 collision between two freight trains is recovering, according to the Tsaritsa Ioanna University Hospital - ISUL. The man was brought to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
He underwent surgery at the Neurosurgery Clinic, where doctors stabilised fractures in his cervical, thoracic, and lumbar vertebrae.
The man was operated at the Clinic of Neurosurgery, stabilization of vertebral fractures was performed: at cervical, thoracic and lumbar level.
Currently, the patient is undergoing rehabilitation and is beginning to regain mobility with the assistance of the hospital’s physiotherapists.
Two people were killed and six injured in the serious train crash near Lokorsko.
