June 7 is the final day of campaigning for Bulgaria’s early parliamentary elections and the European Parliament elections. No form of campaigning is allowed after midnight on June 7. Tomorrow, June 8, is a day of reflection.
A total of 20 parties and 11 coalitions have registered to take part in Bulgaria’s early parliamentary election and 17 in the European Parliament election.
The polling day in Bulgaria will start at 07:00 and will run until 20:00. The law provides for extension of the voting time by an hour (until 21:00) if there is a queue outside the polling station.
Voting will take place in 12,898 polling stations across the country on 9 June. Voting machines will be available in 9,346 polling stations. There will be 322 mobile polling stations for the 2-in-1 vote on Sunday.
Voters in the country who are not eligible to vote in the European Parliament election because of the residency rule will only vote by paper ballot.
