GERB-UDF will surely propose a cabinet to Parliament after it receives the first mandate from President Rumen Radev on December 5, GERB deputy leader Tomislav Donchev said on December 2.

Bulgaria's President will hand first mandate to seek to form a government to GERB-UDF on Monday

Who will be the nominee for Prime Minister will become clear on Monday and what will be the line-up of the proposed cabinet will be in 10 days, he specified. He added that the candidate will be nominated by the parliamentary group of GERB-UDF and refused to comment on whether this could be Desislava Atanasova.

From his words it became clear that it is likely that the proposed GERB-UDF cabinet will be a minority government.

"The talks have not stopped. All attempts to negotiate the formation of a cabinet have proved impossible because the political forces with which we have ideological similarities in programmes and goals have no obvious inclination to hold such talks. We will use the remaining week or 10 days in all kinds of attempts - public, regulated, to secure the political future of a first-mandate cabinet, which does not exclude the form of a minority cabinet. Yes, it cannot be a coalition based on agreement, because it is obviously impossible. It cannot be an arithmetical coalition. The last possibility is a minority government. That must not be ruled out. It will be our Cabinet - is it possible? Difficult, but possible," Donchev said.

According to him, the President has given enough time for talks and consultations to the parties, they have not used it in the best way.
