Sofia District Heating company starts to gradually turn on the heating in Sofia from the middle of the week, the company’s website reports on November 7.
According to the regulations, the general switching on of heating in Sofia can start after three consecutive days with an average daily temperature lower than +12°C and a forecast for a permanent cold snap. The data received from the met office show that from 9 November 2022, average daily temperatures are expected to drop to +10 C°.
The heating will be first switched on in kindergartens, schools and hospitals, followed by administrative and residential buildings.
Customers are advised to complete all repairs on the internal heating network and fill the drained installations before the heating is put on. In buildings where this condition is not met, there will be no technical possibility to switch it on.
It is also necessary to open the radiator valves to the maximum extent so that no further bleeding of the radiators is required. It is also important that electronic metering devices be checked. In the event that their display is not on, customers should immediately seek the assistance of their heat accountancy firm.
Restricting access to the subscriber's station in the building as much as possible will prevent possible tampering and theft of heat. This will ensure a quality and reliable heat supply to all properties and correct accounting of the heat consumed, the company also reminds.
