Plovdiv is a good example of the integration of Ukrainian citizens who have sought protection in Bulgaria.
There is a Centre for Accommodation of Refugees from Ukraine in the city, where women and children receive shelter and food.
However, the main goal is to find work for the adults, to have the children attend school and kindergarten, and gradually to enable the families to support themselves.
"Over 260 people have passed through the centre, there are currently 124 registered. The idea here is that the people come, take a Bulgarian language course, which is provided, find a job, rent a place to live so that others can then benefit from this service," Georgi Tityukov, deputy mayor of Plovdiv municipality, told BNT.
