In the early hours of October 19, 2024, the sixth unit of Kozloduy nuclear power plant (NPP) will be shut down for planned annual maintenance, which is scheduled to last until the end of November. The shutdown has been coordinated with the Electricity System Operator, the plant's press office said.
During the outage, planned repairs and necessary maintenance are to be carried out to ensure equipment opearability and the safe and reliable operation of the unit. All activities are carried out in accordance with the licensing obligations and the requirements of the technological regulations for safe operation. The Unit 6 reactor will be refueled with fresh nuclear fuel for the next 30 fuel campaign.
