May 13, 2024, is Tax Freedom Day in Bulgaria. This is the hypothetical date on which the people of the country would replenish the state coffers if everything we earn since the beginning of the year goes only to the benefit of the budget, according to an analysis by economists from the Institute for Market Economics.

This year it occurs earlier than in 2022, when the tax freedom day was on May 26. For 2023, the institute did not announce when we will stop working to secure revenue in the budget because the budget framework was not adopted on time.
