One person was killed and another injured after an international express train struck a vehicle that had improperly crossed the railroad tracks at an activated crossing signal, the Bulgarian Railway Company , BDZ, said on September 5.
The train was travelling from Dimitrovgrad to Gorna Oryahovitsa. Due to the accident, it was stopped at Plachkovtsi station.
The train will continue its movement after the completion of investigative actions and clearing of the track.
As a result of the collision, the driver of the car died. The other passenger was taken to hospital. Two persons were in the vehicle, the railway company added.
