The National Assembly on November 17 adopted a declaration on Bulgaria's accession to the Schengen area.
The document underlines that the country has met the requirements already in 2011 and this has been confirmed by many international institutions.
It is insisted that Bulgaria will become part of Schengen in 2023. Bulgarian MPs call on their colleagues from EU member states to support our country.
The declaration was unanimously supported by GERB-UDF, BSP for Bulgaria, Movement for Rights and Freedoms and “Bulgaria Ascending”. “Vazrazhdane” voted against. "We Continue the Change" and "Democratic Bulgaria" were not in the chamber and did not vote.
