The Social Policy Committee in Parliament adopted the minimum wage to raise to 850 BGN, the leader of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) Kornelia Ninova wrote on Facebook on November 30.
"Reason prevailed. The Committee on Labour, Social and Demographic Policy unanimously adopted at first reading the BSP's proposal that the minimum wage become 50% of the average. For 2023 this means 850 BGN.
I thank all the parliamentary parties for their support. 500 000 working poor will feel our care for them. Let us pass the law quickly and at second reading. Then President Radev's caretaker cabinet, which was against this increase, will have no choice but to implement Parliament's decision," Ninova wrote.
