A partial solar eclipse was observed at noon on October 25 from the territory of Bulgaria.
It was most visible in the coastal city of Varna. About 60% of the sun's diameter was covered by the passing new moon
The eclipse started at 12.29 pm in Eastern Bulgaria and 10 minutes later in Sofia. The peak was after 1.40 pm and ended at 3.00 pm.
Astronomer Antoaneta Avramova-Boncheva said the dark spots on the Sun were areas of lower temperature. The next partial eclipse visible from Bulgaria will be in 2026. There will be a total solar eclipse in 2081.
