Forty-two undocumented foreign nationals were found in a lorry during a check by police officers, the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior - Sliven said on November 30.
The lorry with Plovdiv registration was stopped for inspection late at night in the village of Karanovo, the region of Nova .Zagora A task force was sent to the scene.
The driver of the vehicle, who is a Bulgarian citizen, was detained. He was taken to the district police station in Nova Zagora and remained in police custody for 24 hours. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated. All foreign nationals will be accommodated in the Centre for Temporary Accommodation of Foreigners in Lyubimets.
Yesterday, police detained a minibus with Stara Zagora registration near the village of Karnare, Karlovo region, with 23 migrants. There are detainees in the case.
