The Prosecutor's office on November 28 launched a preliminary investigation in relation to the claims of Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) leader, Kornelia Ninova, concerning manipulation of the machine voting in the latest early parliamentary elections.
The Prosecutor's office self-initiated the probe based on the statements of both Ninova and the chairman of BSP parliamentary group, Georgi Svilenski, during the discussion of changes to the Electoral Code, during the second reading, the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office told BNR.
They specified that the inspection was assigned to the State Agency for National Security.

The chairman of the parliamentary group of the socialists, Georgi Svilenski, stated during the discussion of the second reading of the changes to the Electoral Code that the co-chairman of “We Continue the Change”, Kiril Petkov, proposed to BSP parliamentary group to withdraw the changes for the return of the paper ballot, as in exchange had promised the machine codes.
