Residents of the town of Kocherinovo, Western Bulgaria, on September 2, again blocked the road to Rila Monastery. This is the fourth protest of the residents for the past two weeks and the reason is shortage of water in the municipality. There has been no water supply in their homes for days.
Shouting "We want water", the protesting people stood on a pedestrian crossing and stopped the traffic on the road to the Rila Monastery. They said that traffic will be restored in twenty minutes.
However, this will not be their last protest unless urgent measures are taken to ensure sufficient water flow in the reservoirs supplying Kocherinovo and neighbouring settlements.
