From Monday - 17 June, additional changes will be made to the timetable of some trains in order to ease traffic congestion and shunting activity at Sofia Central Station during the modernisation of the rail tracks at the station.
Railway track renewal works have been completed for 7 of the 14 tracks - 1 to 5, 13 and 14. Work is in progress on tracks 6 to 12. Dismantling activities are complete and digging is in progress. Work is in progress on the construction of foundations for overhead contact line poles.
For the newly built tracks on which the trains run, a new Route-Relay interlocking has been put into trial operation.

Following the introduction of the additional changes to trains timetable, the following adjustments will be made:
The customers of the Bulgarian railway company (BDZ) can get up-to-date information on the train timetable from the staff at the Information desks, ticket offices in railway offices and stations, on the national information phone 02/931 11 11 or from the electronic guide on the official website of the company: www.bdz.bg.
The track system upgrade at Sofia Central Station began in the the beginning of May. A change was introduced in the schedule of trains arriving and departing mainly from and to the northern direction - Mezdra, Vidin, Varna, Ruse. It is expected that the construction works on the track system of Sofia Central Station will last 15 months.
