A wildfire is burning in the municipality of Nevestino, Kyustendil district, Southwestern Bulgaria. The fire has spread quickly due to the strong wind and has covered 400 acres of dry grasses and 20 acres of forest. It is turning into a crown fire.
Firefighters, forestry officials and volunteers are working on the scene. Fire breaks are being made with heavy-duty equipment to contain the spread of the fire. At this stage there is no danger to populated areas.
The probable cause of the fire is human negligence.
