Bulgarian students won eight medals at the 41st Balkan Mathematical Olympiad . Two of them are gold and were won by the twelfth-grade students Deyan Hadzi-Manic from the High School of Mathematics “Dr Petar Beron” – Varna and Marin Hristov from the High School of Mathematics in Sofia.
Silver awards went to Veselin Markovic (11th grade, High School of Mathematics “Dr Petar Beron” – Varna) and Andrey Stefanov (9th grade, First Private Mathematic High School), who were the Bulgarrian representatives from the first team. Bronze medals went to Alexander Bangachev (9th grade, First Private Mathematic High School). Honorary diploma went to Viktor Kostadinov (12th grade, First Private Mathematic High School).

Dragomir Grozev and Alexander Ivanov are their supervisors. In the second team, bronze awards were won by Angel Hristov (11th grade, School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences - Burgas), Georgi Nikolov (10th grade, Sofia High School of Mathematics) and Lazar Todorov (11th grade, Sofia High School of Mathematics).
The honorary diplomas were awarded to Milen Shumanov (11th grade, First Private Mathematic High School), Teodor Zlatanov (10th grade, School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences - Veliko Tarnovo) and Viktor Avramski (10th grade, Sofia High School of Mathematics). Their supervisors are Ivaylo Kortezov and Miroslav Marinov (Institute of Mathematics and Informatics
Of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences).
Bulgaria’s coastal city of Varna hosted the event, which was attended by a record number of countries - 22. Ten of them were from member countries and the rest were guests. There were representatives from France, Great Britain, Italy, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia and others. After this edition of the Balkan Olympiad, Bulgaria is in third place in the unofficial team ranking.
