At the first sitting of the 50th Parliament on June 19, GERB-UDF will nominate Raya Nazaryan as Speaker. This was announced by party leader Boyko Borissov on June 18.
"To date, the formation of the Council of Ministers is not possible. Tomorrow we will nominate Raya as Speaker of Parliament and voting will begin. It will be clear from that whether we will go ahead with negotiations," he said.
Boyko Borissov pointed out that in order to have a government with GERB's participation, it should be stable and not "for 100 days". He added that during the negotiations they received populist demands. He also reiterated the thesis that GERB-UDF will not govern only with MRF.
"If they think that with new elections they will increase their result, they are mistaken. The fact that Borissov and Peevski will rule is a lost cause. This will not happen. I hope we all support Raya. If the vote passes tomorrow, we will continue the talks," Borissov said.
