All Covid-19 restrictions in Bulgaria removed

A reduction in the prevalence and severity of coronavirus infection has been observed in the country, according to the press office of the Ministry of Health. At this time, no orders will be issued to introduce anti-epidemic measures. The existing measures were in effect until November 16.

As of 16 November 2022, the 14-day incidence rate in the country is 69.62 cases per 100,000 population, continuing the decline in the number of newly reported cases reported since mid-October.

No strain on the health system is being reported, and there has been a 20% drop in the number of people newly hospitalized on a weekly basis since the beginning of November.

In view of the autumn-winter season and the increase in the incidence of acute respiratory diseases, the regional health inspectorates should inform health facilities and strictly monitor compliance with prevention and control measures for nosocomial infections.

The Ministry of Health continues to monitor the development of the pandemic and, if an upsurge is reported, the introduction of anti-epidemic measures will again be considered in order to protect public health and reduce the impact of coronavirus infection on the health system, as well as to prevent the simultaneous epidemic spread of two diseases with pandemic potential - influenza and COVID-19.

Vaccination against COVID-19 and influenza remains the surest way to protect against severe illness, hospitalization and long-term health consequences.

Measures against the spread of coronavirus infection in Bulgaria have been in place since March 2020.
