Bulgaria has applied the Dublin Regulation since 2007, outgoing Minister of Interior, Kalin Stoyanov, said during the question time in Parliament on March 22. Since the beginning of the year we have received 168 persons returned under this regulation.
"Let me reassure you that there is a steady downward trend in migration pressure. In the past 24 hours alone, 40 persons have attempted to enter illegally from Turkey compared to 482 persons on the same day last year. Ten times less. Since the beginning of the year, 5,777 people have tried to enter the country, while for the same period last year they totalled 18,474, or a 3-fold drop in migration pressure," Kalin Stoyanov said.
