The price of natural gas is set to increase by slightly more than 8% in June, Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) Chairman, Ivan Ivanov, said. Bulgargaz' May 16 proposal was discussed by the regulator at a public meeting today, May 30.
According to Ivanov, the price will rise from nearly 55 BGN per megawatt-hour this month to 59.55 BGN in June.
The final decision of the EWRC will become clear after a closed session on June 1.
A tender procedure for the supply of 1,000,000 megawatt-hours of LNG through a terminal in Turkey under an agreement signed with the Turkish state company Botas is also expected to be launched in June, public supplier Bulgargaz said at the beginning of the month.
