Settlements in Kyustendil district, in the municipalities of Bobov Dol, Dupnitsa, Nevestino, Boboshevo, as well as in the city of Kyustendil , remained for hours without electricity because of the bad weather. In some places people were without power supply for nearly 20 hours, and neighbourhoods in the village of Dyakovo in Dupnikovo from last night until this afternoon, December 12, also experienced power outages. Street lighting was also stopped.
The office of the electricity distribution company said that the bad weather caused breakdowns on power lines in the region and this led to the disrupted power supply, however, the breakdowns are being repaired.
A nervous man from Sapareva Banya damaged two electricity metering boards by firing at them with a hunting rifle. He was detained and his weapon was seized. Pre-trial proceedings have been opened in the case.
