“Alley of the Book” will take place in Sofia from 9 to 15 September

"Alley of the Book" will take place in Sofia from 9 to 15 September, along Vitosha Bulevard and in the park in front of the National Palace of Culture, the organisers of the Bulgarian Book Association announced.

The official opening will be on 9 September in the literary corner. The programme will start with a musical performance by Trio Misty.

The Alley of the Book is an event that visits some of the biggest cities in Bulgaria.

After Plovdiv, Botevgrad, Gabrovo and Varna, for a week Sofia will once again host the largest traveling outdoor exposition, which brings together over 150 leading Bulgarian publishers, presenting their latest, interesting and popular in-demand titles, the organisers say.

Each day on a specially built stage there will be literary readings, premieres of new titles, meetings with authors, and also entertaining games for the youngest.

For the first time, a non-fiction festival - "Science, Art and Culture" - will also be held during the event. Within two days, works will be presented in the following categories - history, art history, cultural tourism, self-discovery and ethnology. We have selected and invited some of the most distinguished professionals from the sphere of humanitarian litarature and book publishing as the festival team, the organisers add.
