Archaeological excavations in Vidin (port city on the southern bank of the Danube in north-western Bulgaria) have fully revealed the route of one of the fortress walls of the ancient city of Bononia. They are meters away from the medieval fortress "Baba Vida", which is the best preserved from this period in Bulgaria.
The site is still being explored, but will eventually be included in tourist itineraries. It is among those nominated for inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
