Bulgarian Railway Company BDZ provides additional security measures on trains over the Easter holidays

The Bulgarian Railway Company, BDZ, is taking additional security measures on trains in connection with the Easter holidays and the expected increase in the flow of passengers, the press office of the national railway carrier said on April 13 as quoted by BTA.

The company said that passengers should be reassured about their security as BDZ is making every effort to ensure it, working closely with law enforcement agencies.

The company periodically provides the Ministry of Interior with a list of the so-called risk trains, which usually provide services in the evening and night, but it is the Ministry of Interior's decision on which trains to provide a pair of patrolling police officers according to the resources available.

BDZ advises passengers if they notice any irregularity to immediately report to the officials - conductor and trainmaster - who have been instructed on how to react if a situation arises. If there are police officers on patrol on the train, they should also be informed. In the absence of law enforcement officials, a police patrol will be called to the nearest next station, BDZ said.

Bulgarian Railways provides 12,700 extra seats on trains over Easter holidays

BDZ will provide over 12,700 extra seats for the upcoming Easter holidays. For this purpose, the rolling stock of the trains travelling on the main routes in the country will be added extra carriages.
