Caretaker Prime Minister, Galab Donev, sent a letter to the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, thanking her for her high assessment of the quality of Bulgaria’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan and for the progress in its implementation, the government press office said on December 23.
The Prime Minister expressed his and the caretaker cabinet's thanks in response to the letter of the European Commission president a week ago, in which Mrs. Von der Leyen congratulated the Bulgarian government on the successful first steps in the implementation of the National Plan and informed about the disbursement of the first tranche of 1.37 billion euros for Bulgaria.
In his written correspondence with the President of the European Commission, Prime Minister Galab Donev noted the consistent efforts of the caretaker cabinet, as well as the focus on the implementation of the next objectives, including important steps in the area of the rule of law, measures to fight corruption, energy efficiency measures, as well as investments aimed at improving social, health and other areas.
In his letter, Prime Minister Donev also reaffirmed the Bulgarian government's firm commitment to the full implementation of the National Plan and thanked Mrs. Von der Leyen for the assurances that the Bulgarian government will be able to count on fruitful cooperation with the European Commission in the future.
