"The Council of Ministers approved the schedule for the implementation of the construction activities of the National General Hospital for Active Treatment of Children in Sofia. The schedule includes the necessary activities and deadlines for implementation. BGN 100 million have been provided from the state budget as the first funding for site clearing, design and other activities. A grant agreement has been signed with the European Investment Bank for consultancy services. The services will be provided by a Belgian consortium selected by the European Investment Bank to prepare three strategic documents. The design process for the hospital will start in early September and construction is due to start in 2025. The necessary funds for the construction of the hospital will be planned in next year's budget as well as in the medium-term budget forecast," Petkova said.
