A 41-year-old Bulgarian man who went from Sofia to the Kite Camping Gradina campsite at Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast and who was admitted to infectious disease ward of the hospital in Bourgas after tested positive for coronavirus died on the morning of June 17.
Twelve people said they were in contact with the man. They were all tested and their results were negative.
The man arrived at the campsite on June 3,. He had felt ill, having flu-like symptoms, but decided to look for cure on the beach by exposing himself to the sun and sea air.
When his condition worsened, a neighbour at the campsite drove him to hospital, where the man was diagnosed with Covid-19. He was admitted to the infectious disease hospital, but soon his condition deteriorated and was incubated.
After the man was confirmed positive for the virus, his caravan and the campsite were disinfected.
Disinfections at the campsite will take place regularly, every 7 days to ensure safety for the tourists.
