The Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB) wants a 10% increase in incomes for everyone in the budget sector from 1 July, the trade union's president Plamen Dimitrov told BNT on April 4. According to him, if the 3 percent budget deficit is not respected for one or several years, the long-term fiscal outlook of our country will not be disturbed.
"In the two years that we have had higher inflation, especially tangible in the past 6-7 months, people have on average become poorer by about 30%. Anyone who has not received such an increase since the beginning of 2021 should know that they are within their rights to demand from their employer, regardless of where they work, an increase to at least cover the official inflation," the union leader said.
