A passenger train caught fire near Pordim (central northern Bulgaria) on January 4.
At about 15.40, shortly after Pordim station in the direction of Pleven, smoke started coming out of the locomotive of the train, which was travelling on the route from Varna to Sofia, the railway company BDZ told BNT.
More than 100 people were travelling on the train, there were no reports of any injured passengers.
Trains in the area are running. Passengers from the train that caught fire are expected to be transferred on a train to Pleven at about 17.00.
From there they will be transferred to the international train from Rouse to Sofia and will arrive in the capital about two hours late.
The incident was reported by a BNT viewer. He explained that the passengers were evacuated to the field.
