The Sand Sculptures Festival opens today, July 5, in Burgas.
For the 17th consecutive year, the impressive sculptures will bring joy to tourists in the seaside city until the end of September.
The theme of the sandy town this year is "In the World of Circus". The festival will feature sculptures of acrobats, clowns, magicians, rope players, jugglers and circus animals. Among the figures is that of Astor, which depicts his iconic head-waving trick.
This year's artists include 10 young sculptors graduating from the National Academy of Arts.
Entry for the festival is free-of-charge today.
