Ten new cases of pertussis (Whooping cough) have been confirmed in Bulgaria in the past week, according to the National Centre for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases (NCIPD).
This brings the total number of cases registered since the beginning of the year to 34, which is more than 10 times more than in the same period last year.
At the same time, there has been a decline in scarlet fever and chickenpox infections, both compared to the previous week and compared to the same period last year.
So far, there have been no recorded cases of measles.
