Head of State Rumen Radev awarded Lili Ivanova with the Presidential Badge of Honour for the outstanding significance of her overall work to the Bulgarian musical culture and her contribution to the high international prestige of the native singing tradition, as well as in tribute to her talent, which established her as the prima of Bulgarian popular music, the President’s Press Secretariat said on May 21.
The award was presented to the popular Bulgarian singer after her concert yesterday evening at the ‘Ivan Vazov’ National Theatre in Sofia.
On May 20, the biggest name in Bulgarian pop music took to the stage of the National Theatre for the second year in a row. Large number of actors were present in the hall. Among the guests at the concert were President Rumen Radev and caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev.
