Code red alert for dangerous weather was issued for January 19 in 5 districts in Bulgaria - Montana, Vratsa, Lovech, Gabrovo and Veliko Tarnovo.

At the same time, temperatures remain unusually high for January.
Code orange weather alert is in force for the districts of Vidin, Sofia-city, Sofia-region, Targovishte, Razgrad, Haskovo and Kardzhali. Code yellow has been declared for the rest of the country.
"This strong, gusty wind will continue to blow today, but a change of weather will start tomorrow, cold air will arrive tonight. In the north-western regions, it will start raining. Tomorrow, the temperatures will drop significantly - by an average of 10 - 15 degrees," Boryana Markova from the met office told BNT.
At the beginning of next week, temperatures are forecast to drop further and there will be both rain and snow.
