He said it was inexcusable for Gabriel to play with the fate of the Bulgarian people
The outgoing Minister of Finance Assen Vassilev made new criticisms against the outgoing Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mariya Gabriel.
Maryia Gabriel, who is the Prime Minister designate from GERB-UDF demanded an apology on Wednesday, March 20, after Vassilev called her "the beautiful face of the mafia in Bulgaria" on Tuesday night during a press conference given by “We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria”(WCC-DB).
"The first mandate to form a government was personally handed to Gabriel, therefore, it is exhausted. It depends on GERB-UDF, we (from WCC-DB) have never left the negotiating table. GERB did. They left 6 days earlier, yesterday, and went to present the President a list of ministers, that not agreed. If Mariya Gabriel felt offended in a personal capacity, I can offer an apology to her a woman. But I make no apologies to Prime Minister-designate Mariya Gabriel. I think her behaviour is absolutely inexcusable, as well it is unexcusable for her to play with the fate of the Bulgarian people in this unprecedented way. This is unacceptable not only for a prime minister but for any politician," Vassilev said.
