foreign minister bulgaria not give ammunition ukraine

A number of EU countries have expressed their readiness to provide Ukraine with ammunition, but Bulgaria has not committed to do so. This became clear from the words of the caretaker foreign minister Nikolai Milkov, who participated in a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels on February 20.

Bulgaria will help Ukraine by taking part in the EU training mission for the Ukrainian army and by providing medical treatment for Ukrainian servicemen at the Military Medical Academy in Sofia. The foreign ministers also discussed the tenth package of sanctions to be adopted in the coming days.

Nikolai Milkov said that no sanctions related to nuclear energy were expected in it. The caretaker foreign minister said he would propose to President Rumen Radev that a new Bulgarian ambassador to NATO be appointed, but refused to say who it would be.

"Bulgaria stands well in terms of assistance, we have announced what we will provide - it is assistance for the training mission. Our participation from the Ministry of Defence in the training mission, which will be carried out on the territory of allied countries, not on the territory of Ukraine, mainly in Germany and Poland. We are also working, as we have done so far, for the rehabilitation of military personnel from Ukraine in need of medical assistance - we are the leading country for medical assistance within the framework of NATO as well," the minister said.
